Fix for phone not connecting to AT&T router-modem gateway Wi-Fi. This AT&T router-modem gateway Wi-Fi is 5268AC.
The password that you are using to connect to the WiFi may be the reason why your cell phone does not connect to your AT&T router/modem Gateway WiFi.
Some time ago, I changed the password that came with my AT&T DSL router/modem Gateway WiFi. I have an old Android phone and it is connected to the WiFi with the changed password. I had bought a new Android phone and every time I tried to connect to the WiFi with the changed password I got a message stating that the password was incorrect.
I was able to connect my new Android phone to the WiFi with the password that came with my AT&T Gateway WiFi.
It seems like the AT&T Gateway WiFi was reset some time ago, and the factory password was re-established.
To connect to the WiFi: Set the WiFi on your phone to on. Set the airplane mode on your phone to off. Use the password that came with your router/modem. If you need to, reset your router/modem to the factory settings and use the factory settings password to connect to the WiFi.
NOTE: This may be the solution for similar connection problems with router/modems from different manufacturers.
